When do you plan to host your event?
Outside the academic year
Non-WashU affiliated organizations or individuals can host events on the Danforth Campus outside of the academic year.
We regularly host summer events on our campus that include:
- conferences
- workshops
- retreats
- reunions
- galas
- fundraisers
- discussion panels
- lectures
- and more
We invite you to hold your next event on our campus!
How it works
Our department manages dozens of premier- and standard-level event spaces, in addition to pooled classrooms.

These spaces range in capacity from 320-person halls to 10-person meeting rooms. Most offer in-room AV equipment and customizable furniture layouts.
As part of your rental, we will coordinate with you and your team to find the right space to fit your needs.
Submitting an inquiry
When you’re ready to begin the event planning process, you can contact our event manager, Indra Russell.
Inquiries for external events must be made a minimum of 30 days in advance and are subject to availability, staffing and resources. External rentals are not possible during campus holidays.

For summer conferences or programs that will require additional services (such as accommodations for participants), please reach out to the WashU Conference Services team.
During the academic year
During the academic year (August 1–May 31) non-WashU groups or individuals require sponsorship by a WashU department.
- All fees are billed directly to the sponsoring department through the university billing system
- The department supports the non-WashU group where Event Management deems it appropriate or necessary, including on-site staffing [tk: confirm]
Work directly with your sponsoring department to begin the event planning process.
